Official Title of Position:         Business Operations Specialist – Band 8
Minimum Monthly Salary:     $3,000/month, 12-month annual contract

Henderson Community College serves credit, dual credit, adult education and workforce development students in a three-county region of Northwest Kentucky. The college also serves several counties in Southwest Indiana by offering in-state tuition. Henderson is one of 16 colleges in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). The college and its faculty and staff are focused on student and community development and success. HCC is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accounts receivables which includes student tuition, third party billings, corporate billings, scholarships, and departmental money collected for miscellaneous fees.
  • Monitors student accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Accounts for student revenue using PeopleSoft in a timely manner.
  • Reconciles daily cash receipts, prepares bank deposits, and posts related journals.
  • Reviews, audits and/or compiles various financial reports.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Assists students with Bank Mobile refunds and NELNET payment plans.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and reconciles bank statements with general ledger accounts.
  • Provides direction and support to personnel in the execution of their responsibilities and duties.
  • Performs data entry into PeopleSoft for timesheets, taxes, benefits, etc.
  • Audits payroll data for accuracy for all employees.
  • Audits, reconciles, and reports leave balances for all employees.
  • Maintains complete and accurate payroll files.
  • Assists with other miscellaneous human resources functions to include workers compensation, benefits open enrollment, FMLA, open position search process, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with KCTCS payroll related policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field), and one-year related experience, or equivalent.
  • Problem Solving: The same type problems are frequently encountered.  Checks with supervisor if none of the regularly established procedures fix the problem.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Has no authority for the supervision of others.
  • Oversight and Direction: Receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor.  Organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions or previous training.
